At Modest Cremation, we believe families deserve clear, transparent pricing during a difficult time. Below you’ll find a straightforward breakdown of our Direct Cremation (No Service Option), with no hidden fees.

(No Service Option)

This package includes all professional services required to carry out a direct cremation with care, dignity, and compliance.

• Coordination of all activities by licensed funeral professionals
• Professional consultation and 24/7 availability
• Transportation of the deceased from the place of death to our care (within 50 km)
• Transfer of the deceased to a crematory within our network
• Registration and completion of all required documentation
• Basic preparation of the deceased
• Sheltering of remains prior to cremation
• Cardboard cremation container suitable for cremation

Total Package Price: $1,115

(Industry & Government Fees – Not Controlled by the Funeral Home)

The following fees are required by third parties and are in addition to the $1,115 package price:

• Crematory Fee: As selected. The cremation fee varies depending on the crematory chosen and its location.
• Coroner’s Cremation Certificate: Provincial fee (as required)
• Permit and/or Government Fees: As selected. These fees may be required by provincial or municipal authorities.
• Municipal Death Registration Fee: Varies by municipality
• Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO) Consumer Protection Fee – Funeral: $30
• Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO) Consumer Protection Fee – Cremation: $30
• Mailing of Cremated Remains (within Ontario): Estimated $60
  (Excludes the cost of a mailing container, if required)
